Raum:                 109

Principles and Views on Online Language Training Examples of Best Practice from EUROVOLT via VLE and LANCELOT

The workshop will explore two model concepts of online training from planning to delivery with a special focus on the qualification of trainees and the ‚ingredients‘ for successful online course delivery. The facilitator will present examples of best practice from the two Leonardo-da-Vinci funded EU projects: EUROVOLT via VLE (www.eurovolt.net) and LANCELOT (www.lancelot.at) which will result in engaging participants to reflect on guidelines for effective online training and course design.

The following issues will be dealt with in small groups:

  • how to encourage or discourage learners‘ participation / collaboration,
  • which kind of course structure could accommodate a great variety of subject matters and learning styles,
  • the importance of feedback and individual assessments (tutorials and portfolios)
  • what are the advantages or disadvantages of teaching online

Target Audience:

Trainers, Training Managers and Educators who are interested in training online and the delivery of effective Online Blended Learning

Prerequisite Knowledge:

Participants will be expected to have some knowledge of general course design or be experienced facilitators (not necessarily online).

The workshop is not intended for people with no experience of dealing with training or who have no experience of course design. Participants will not be expected to have experience in both
